This blog is a collection of stories. A few of them are the result of face to face interviews I conducted for the book, but mainly they are the words of brave, intrepid people of all ages, backgrounds & cultures who sought me out online because I had a blog called The Virginity Project and

These accounts were collated between 2005 & 2016.
The authors of the stories are different ages, backgrounds & from many different parts of the world. I began the blog when I was researching my book, Losing It: How we popped our cherry over the last 80 years (published by Icon Books in the UK & US).
This blog took me on a big, unplanned journey into the minds and private lives of people at many different life stages. Some wrote to tell me that they had never lost their virginity. Their stories were just as significant. This blog is comprised of many small (but big) private moments that I hope will help other people to contextualize their own experiences of first time sex.
